Granite Mountain Stone Design has stood the test of time, much like the Canadian Shield it sits atop where prairie farmlands meet the boreal forest.
Quarry operations began in 1959 with the mining of the local granite named, Lac du Bonnet. This local granite has reddish/pink & brown tones. Applications for this granite include countertops, monuments, exterior & interior wall and floor applications, and much more. It is also called Manitoba Redwood, Canadian Red, Canadian Mist, Canadian Sunset & Colonial Rose.
The residential business was founded by Edward (Ed) Charles in 1995 and under his leadership, the business grew to house a slab inventory of 100+ colors.
The Charles’ family is now bringing Granite Mountain Stone Design full circle with son, Brent Charles, along with Ed, managing the new business to continue to offer clients the best in custom stone products with superior customer service. Granite Mountain Stone Design is committed to their customers, employees, and continuing to be a leader in the community adding to the local economy.
